Surgical dermatology is a branch of dermatology that uses surgical techniques to treat skin conditions. It can also be seen as a bridge the can connect dermatology and plastic surgery often preforming procedures that excise skin lesions and rebuild the skin using medication or with augmentative, restorative or maintenance techniques. Surgical dermatology includes various procedures treating both medical and aesthetic concerns, usually with little to no downtime. By doing so, permanently removing or restoring the skin, hair or nail back to its previous appearance.
